Morning always comes
I made some things

Misc: Weird
The awesome alfredaskew asked for some zombies for her cool zombie apocalypse hood. And there are few things that rouse my interest more than zombies and zombie apocalypses. Thusly, I rose to the challenge (and hopefully met it), and I have a zombie to share as a result.

In my game, his name is Gilbert Sullivan (I opened my trivia book for naming inspiration, and "Gilbert & Sullivan" were on the page). He lives in a dark lab up on a hill, isolated from the rest of my neighborhood. The way I see it, he was a scientist looking for a zombie cure/treatment, but his research took him a little too far into the thick of things, and the results were unpleasant, to say the least. Having been a scientist and the like, I have him as very neat, and serious, and not very nice or outgoing. I boolpropped all his skills to max, so if you do the same, he'll be a pretty formidable zombie, I guess.

backerbse made a freakin' cool zombie for Alfi as well, and I stole her "eyeless" idea. I imagine those are one of the first things to rot out. It's hard to tell, but he has pretty prominent cheekbones, a wide mouth with very thin lips, and a pretty gaunt face. There's not a lot of collagen on zombies, you know.

I used Alfi's own noseless template to make his nose so flat, and his ears are as small as I could make them, since those also rotted off, of course.

He is packaged in basegame content, but I unthinkingly packaged him in zombie default skin, so install with Clean Installer, especially if you don't have the Uni EP. Clean Installer should be a given though, anyway.
In these pictures, he is wearing Ghanima's super cool Fallout Ghoul skin.

Download Gilbert Sullivan, zombie scientist.

Also, unrelated to zombies but not quite unrelated to alfredaskew, I successfully made some custom content, for the first time ever. Basically, Pooklet's Glockenspiel eye set has been a favorite of mine almost since I started downloading CC, but the sclera was a little too shaded for my tastes. Alfi draws beautiful things, in case you didn't know, and released some sweet eyes of her own. I dig her sclera, because it's realistic without gappy bits. So, I took it upon myself to mash up my two favorite sim eye related things, and after a full day of reading tutorials and wrestling photoshop into submission, I have results.

They are probably not perfect, and the swatches suck because this is the first time I ever did anything like this, but I did do the whole set/also geneticized and townified them. Basically, I made them for personal use, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in me sharing them? I could even throw up some defaults if anyone was interested, but I won't flatter myself quite that much.

Anywho, thanks for reading this super long rambling all over the place post!

Gilbert Sullivan is just awesome. :D I love what you've done to his face! :D

And those eyes! I've never used those particular eyes, but they look very nice on that sclera! I do think others would want them. ;)

Thank you! On both counts! That particular skin makes it a little hard to see facial features, but I did spend time sculpting him, I promise!

I will make a point of throwing them up in the near future, then. I could do it right now but I don't have good previews, and I'm terrible at making them. >>; Plus, it seems like everyone hates to take previews for things they have made, and I'm starting to understand the feeling!

Scratch that, I put them up for backerbse so here they are if you are interested. I'll make an official post when I'm not a lazy preview taker.

Oh fantastic, thanks!! :)

Squee! Thank you!
I can't wait until I have time to put all these-- huh I don't think I can call them "pretties" like I would normally xD-- crazy awesome zombies into my hood!
My theater geek loves the idea of Gilbert Sullivan as name for a zombie. It seems fitting (the shows that wouldn't die?). Ha!
I'm also thinking of sliding that skin into some tattoo box so I can use it over some of my zombies.... hmmm... too much awesome.

Funny, I made personal edits of a couple of eyes from that set, just because I downloaded a couple sims that I felt really needed that style. ^^

Oh man, I'm glad you enjoy the zombies and I'm glad you asked for them. I dig them, and I'm also glad you got the name reference, because until I opened my trivia book and googled them, I didn't really get the reference myself. >>; If you do put that skin on a tattoo box, that'd be awesome. Or even if it was just a plain old zombie default, I'd dig that.

I'd like to see what your edits look like! I love that eye set in all its forms and seeing what you did with it would be very interesting to me. :D

If I put it in a box, it's going to have to be some gerry-rigged edit of some one else's, I've never gotten it to work for me. ^^

They look pretty much just like yours, but maybe the iris is a little bigger, and I used an old version of the sclera. Pretty much, yours are better. xD

Now that's a scary zombie D:
He's definitely going in my 'hood, probably as a vampire, hehe.

Oh, and please share those eyes! They're lovely and my game could need some more eyes on Alfi's sclera :D

Seeing one of my sims in any of your hoods would be so exciting to me! I love your game. :D I actually just townified Dan and Romeo from the sim challenge in my pixel_trade hood last night. I hope Romeo especially comes around soon, I love him.

Here they are, I'm not making an official post till I have non-terrible previews, but I'll throw them up for you because I know you appreciate that sclera as well. And if you happen to take any cool pictures you don't mind me could using as previews, please post them. ;)

Ooooh, thanks for sharing these, they're really awesome :D I have some pictures you could use if you like (or if you'd prefer the unedited .bmps I could upload those for you, too ;)). Here's a link: http://imgcake.com/album.php?id=1587#images

Oh, those are fantastic! Thank you so so so much! I'm going to reupload them to my own picture host and use them, thank you for taking those! And the eyes look so good on your sims! Awesome!

No problem! I'm glad to help :D
3rd-Jun-2011 11:54 am (UTC)
Oh yay I'm glad someone is making use of that ghoul skin :D The noseless template is simply *perfect* for him!
3rd-Jun-2011 09:55 pm (UTC)
It's an awesome skin, and you did a great job with it. It would make a cool zombie default.

Thank you! I couldn't think of any reason I would ever need a noseless sim, but making a zombie seemed to call for it. :)

I just have to let you know I left this page open and my best friend got super excited about Gilbert: "What's this? This is awesome! Why don't you make things like this??"

Needless to say, Gilbert Sullivan has captured at least two hearts. <3 <3 ;D
4th-Jun-2011 09:20 pm (UTC)
That really made my day! But your friend should know that the things you make are infinitely awesome themselves.

I'm glad to know he is doing some good, besides single handedly turning my neighborhood into a bad horror movie (the zombie apocalypse hack is a powerful thing).

Sorry to comment here, but i can't view your entry for the eyes download. When i click either on the title or the cut, it says
"The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression."
Is that just me?

Wow, that is really weird. It works for me.

This link does not work for you?

If not, here are previews courtesy of the lovely backerbse and here is the direct download link. They come in all of the original glockenspiel set colors that Pooklet did, and they are geneticized and townified!
